Fabric Data Engineer
A practical DP-700 guide for data engineers working with Fabric ingestion, transformation, orchestration, operations, and performance.
Last verified against Microsoft Learn:
DP-700 is the exam behind the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate credential. It focuses on building and operating data engineering solutions in Fabric: loading and transforming data, orchestration, governance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Bring practical experience with data loading patterns and architecture. You should be able to transform data with SQL and PySpark, choose between Fabric workload options, reason about batch and streaming paths, and diagnose operational or performance problems.
The current official blueprint divides the work across implementing and managing an analytics solution, ingesting and transforming data, and monitoring and optimizing the solution. Use the live Microsoft study guide before scheduling because objectives can change.
Use the official study guide as the checklist. Pair each objective with Microsoft Learn, one hands-on exercise, and existing Javi on Data content on architecture, Lakehouse, notebooks, pipelines, Git/CI/CD, performance, and monitoring.
Check the official exam page for current logistics, explore the exam sandbox, verify your setup, and review scenarios rather than isolated feature facts. Read constraints before choosing a service or implementation pattern.
Keep building and operating systems. A portfolio that shows design decisions, failure recovery, monitoring, and measured performance demonstrates application far better than the credential alone.
Microsoft role-based certifications generally renew annually through a free online Microsoft Learn assessment during the eligibility window. Use your Microsoft Learn profile and the official renewal page for the current policy and exact dates.
